I hope you find something that you can connect with, that brings you joy, or that inspires you!
A big reason why I am so excited to dip my toes in the blogging pool, is the opportunity to be able to connect with people. My hope is that this space provides you with something new; an idea, a resource, or just something fun that you can relate to. So, to start us off on the right, well-acquainted foot, here are the Cliffs Notes about me…
I’m an elementary teacher, and can honestly say that I love my job. I’m proud to admit that I learn just about as much everyday as I get to teach. I love an opportunity to be creative and share with others (hence the blog). I’m happy to be a homebody, especially after starting a family, but almost always have a travel bug itch waiting to be scratched. Any chance to have a new experience, a new adventure, or be in a new place (preferably a very warm, sunny place) and another part of me comes to life. I take pride in being very loyal and love my people with my whole heart.
I’m happily married and “Mama” to four beautiful little girls (two fur, two human). My husband Chris and I, have been together for over ten years and believe in filling each moment of each day with as many adventures and memories as possible. We try (try) to be positive people, and see the good in the things and the people around us. Our fur-st baby is our black cat named Roux. Next up is our little sweet potato Joey, a smaller-than-average vizsla with no shortage of spunk. Then, life truly found its purpose for us when we welcomed our beautiful daughter, sweet Lou, into our lives. She is pure magic, and made life so amazing that… we decided to add another! This past winter we welcomed our darling Andie, and our girls are truly everything to us. Lots of love and estrogen in this house but there is no doubt, that Chris is the apple of each of our eyes.
I come from a big, close, happy family. I honestly had the type of childhood people dream of and consider it the foundation for where I am in my life. I’m incredibly close with everyone in my family and like to regularly make efforts to keep it that way; I have sleepovers at my sister’s house and meet my uncles for coffee. I have two polar opposite, yet incredibly balanced parents whom I think the world of. My Dad is the source of my sarcastic, dry and ever-present sense of humour, while also being a pillar of what it means to work hard and commit to something. My Mom is supermom, and I don’t say that lightly. She stayed home to raise us, a fact I’ll forever be grateful for (and jealous of). She’s absolutely and simply, one of my best friends. I’m the middle child of three girls and wouldn’t have it any other way (just don’t tell that to my teenaged self).
I love being outside, particularly when it’s warm (I’m a bad Canadian that way). I’m a proud beach bum and believe in the mentality that it’s important to “swim everyday”. Dip my toes in the water, stay out an extra few minutes, taste and try something new; it keeps me young and in love with life. I love food and, thanks to the fact that my husband is a chef, I get to enjoy it often (sometimes a little too often). Probably one of my favourite indulgences is coffee. Ahhhh coffee, just typing the word makes me want to go brew myself a cup. Ever since living in Costa Rica, coffee has been a bit of a love affair of mine. I’m a self-proclaimed sucker for good branding. I love getting to try new products, styles and services, and I hope the blogging world will only continue to open more doors for me in that respect.
