LOU IS FOUR
I keep thinking it will get easier, but as the years continue to fly by I’m left even more speechless at the passing of time. My little la la Lou, you are four. Four whole years of loving you, and the best four years of my life.
I can (and often will) let my mind drift right back to that night. Sometimes, as mothers, I don’t think we realize how long we’ve waited for that person to come along. Maybe we dreamed of starting a family of our own and played around with different baby names, but I don’t think we truly realize how wanted they were, until they are laid on our chest. It’s like someone you’ve known all along, that you’re only meeting for the very first time and immediately, everything makes sense.
In four quick years, we’ve done so much together, and it’s only just begun. I can’t wait for everything that lies ahead for you Lou, and even more I can’t wait to be alongside you every step of the way. I said it the moment I met you and still it’s true, you are magic. You (still) flap your wings when your excited. You love the beach and your cousins. You love pizza and all things pink. You are always ready to try something new, whether it’s jumping in a leaf pile, or swimming in the lake in the rain, or cracking an egg on your head. You love pretty dresses, especially ones that “float” when you twirl. You don’t mind mud or dirt, and are my best helper in the garden. You love to cook and bake, especially with Daddy. You still love to dance and spin around the living room while listening to Adele. Your laugh is contagious, and the light and joy you bring to this world is infectious.
I live everyday of my life, in awe of you.
Never change, only grow, and know that you are always so very loved.
Happy birthday to my best friend, Mama loves you!
